Experienced. Passionate. Dedicated
Born and raised in Tennessee, I am passionate about serving the legal needs of business owners like you.
Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown School of Law in 1993, I began working for a large corporate firm in Nashville, Tennessee. Working in the large corporate environment, I gained experience working for both public and private companies, including healthcare companies, as well as private individual investors. While I gained much experience, my growing family and my desire to focus on smaller business clients, led to my starting my own practice. Through Maclellan Law, I can focus on and specialize in the areas I am most passionate about and better serve my clients at more affordable rates - while balance work and spending time with my family.
Today, I provide legal aid in a variety of business areas for privately held companies and tax exempt organizations. As an “entrepreneur” and small business owner myself, I am not only passionate about helping other entrepreneurs form and grow a vibrant business but also understand the unique needs of operating a business in the present regulatory environment. Owning a small business also allows me to pivot my practice area to meet the unique needs of my clients as new challenges arise.
In addition to my work in the private sector, I have also dedicated much time to providing pro bono legal work to organizations serving our community both locally and abroad. I am particularly passionate about helping low-income families within Nashville find affordable housing and support as well as supporting domestic and international adoption efforts - since adopting two of my own children in 2001 this particular passion has only grown! I have also served on the board of directors for several tax-exempt organizations throughout my career including The Ladies Hermitage Society (the Hermitage, Home of Andrew Jackson), Lipscomb University School of Business Board of Visitors, as well as The Nashville Christian School. I currently serve on the board of Directors for Show Hope and the West Nashville Dream Center.
In my free time, I love hiking, reading, and spending time with my husband, four children, and their partners. Whether it’s laughing (and sometimes arguing) at the dinner table, playing pickleball or walking , walking our dog, Bandit or just being outside enjoying the beautiful nature Tennesee has to offer, I cherish the time I can spend with my loved ones.
