Experienced. Passionate. Dedicated

Born and raised in Tennessee, I am passionate about serving the legal needs of business owners like you.

Upon graduating with Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown School of Law in 1993, I began working for a large corporate firm in Nashville, Bass, Berry, and Sims. Working in the large corporate environment, I gained experience working for both public and private companies, including healthcare companies, as well as private individual investors. While I gained much experience, I realized my dream was to start my own practice, where I could not only specialize in the areas I was passionate about and better serve my clients at more affordable rates but also be able to balance work and spending time with my family. In 2013, I founded Maclellan Law LLC.

Today, I provide legal aid in a variety of business areas for privately held companies and nonprofits organizations (NPO). As an “entrepreneur” and small business owner myself, I am not only passionate about helping other entrepreneurs form and grow a vibrant business but also understand the unique needs of operating a business in the present regulatory environment. Owning a small business also allows me to pivot my practice area to meet the unique needs of my clients as new challenges arise. For example, since 2020 I have provided legal advice and individual representation to my clients on matters pertaining to operating a business during a pandemic.

In addition to my work in the private sector, I have also dedicated much time to providing pro bono legal work to NPOs serving our community both locally and abroad. I am particularly passionate about helping low-income families within Nashville find affordable housing and support as well as supporting domestic and international adoption efforts - since adopting two of my own children in 2001 this particular passion has only grown!  I have also served on the board of directors for several tax-exempt organizations, including The Hermitage, Lipscomb University Business School Board of Visitors, Legacy Mission Village. I currently serve on the board of Directors for Show Hope and the West Nashville Dream Center.

In my free time, I love going on walks, reading, and spending time with my husband, four children, a dog, and two cats. Whether it’s laughing (and sometimes arguing) at the dinner table, playing games, walking our dog, Cobi, or just being outside enjoying the beautiful nature Tennesee has to offer, I cherish the time I can spend with my loved ones.
